From July the charter operator will offer an enhanced consistent, fleet-wide MedAire safety management solution, including 24/7 access to emergency care doctors, onboard medical kits, access to regional security advice and on-the-ground assistance, and aviation medical training for all pilots and flight attendants.

“MedAire sets standards for the management of medical and security incidents in aviation and our partnership with Ocean Sky will showcase the latest comprehensive safety management solution,” said Grant Jeffery, MedAire CEO. “Ocean Sky’s commitment to ensuring that the crew has the best possible training, equipment and advice to handle situations as they arise is to be commended.”

Ocean Sky’s flight crew will be trained in the latest techniques for managing in-flight illness or injury, “This gives our aircraft charter and management customers and crews added reassurance as well as compliance with Safety Management System. MedAire’s initial and recurrent courses will ensure we’re delivering the highest standard of medical care—providing our crews the confidence, knowledge and resources to prepare for and manage unexpected medical situations,” said Andrew Hughes, Ocean Sky managing director.

On the ground, Ocean Sky crew and VIP travelers who are at their destination will also have access to MedAire’s 24/7 medical, security and travel advice and assistance via a co-branded Ocean Sky/MedAire membership card.  Members can obtain pre-travel security risk assessments by accessing a MedAire portal or by speaking to one of the 200 dedicated security professionals.

As Ocean Sky continues to add aircraft to its fleet, passengers and crew will automatically be covered by the MedAire medical and security safety management program.
