The new delivery follows the recent announcement by Qatar Executive to add three new Bombardier aircraft to its fleet, including another Challenger 605 in July and a Global 5000 in August.

Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker said: “The Bombardier Global Express XRS aircraft is the epitome of luxury and comfort and a leader in terms of customer satisfaction. We are pleased to be able to offer this top of the range aircraft to our most demanding clientele.

“With the wide choice of business jet variants, we are confident of being able to suit the different requirements of customers with a preference for fast, flexible and individual travel.”

Qatar Executive's Bombardier Global XRS features a spacious two cabin configuration, accommodating up to 13 passengers, with seats that convert into fully flat beds with a well-appointed aft stateroom for optimal relaxation and privacy. The colour tone of the interior decor is made up of creamy beige leather seating and caramel brown cherry wood. Equipped with a large galley, fine dining can be served anytime by the attentive crew throughout the entire journey, together with a wide selection of hot and cold beverages.

With a flying speed of up to 950km per hour, and nautical range of up to 6,150 miles, the aircraft is capable of flying virtually anywhere in the world to many intercontinental destinations non-stop from Doha. The Bombardier Global Express XRS easily reaches remote areas without having to stop for refuelling, as the plane features a unique system which allows refuelling in less than 15 minutes, thereby adding extra convenience for its passengers.

The super-large Bombardier Global Express XRS comes with cutting edge technology ranging from two large screens and two DVD and CD players to state-of-the-art communications equipment. Travellers can stay connected through satellite phones, high speed internet and are offered business amenities such as printer capability.

The new Bombardier Global Express XRS arrived just a few days before the start of EBACE. Qatar Executive is participating at the major business aircraft event to present its enhanced product portfolio to customers and business partners.

Part of Qatar Executive's operational upgrade is also its new dedicated 6,300 square metre maintenance hangar at Doha International Airport, where the Qatar Executive maintenance team will also serve other business aircraft operators.

Two more business jets – the Challenger 605 and the Global 5000 – will join the Qatar Executive fleet this summer, doubling its all-Bombardier fleet in just two years.
