The Aircar is highly flexible and can accommodate up to 19 passengers, eight VIP passengers, or carry cargo in three LD3 containers.

Wang Bin, senior VP and chairman AVIC Helicopter, said: “It is a highly efficient aircraft designed for medium and short-range flight services. Due to the short take-off and landing requirements it is ideal for underdeveloped areas with weak road connections, or areas made up of many islands, but can be used for many things including parachuting, geographical surveys and cloud seeding.”

The company intends to bring the aircraft to market in 2013, following type certification from CAAC/FAA in 2012. It already has 25 firm orders, with 33 additional potential customers in China alone.
