Dubai 2011: 328 Support Services on a mission to show off new types

Germany's 328 Support Services is at the show promoting its new 328SP series, a customised version of Dornier 328 turboprop and jet airframes. The 328SP allows buyers to add state-of-the-art equipment on a modular basis, meaning they can upgrade their aircraft at a timeframe to suit their budgets.

Special mission operators, such as Australia’s AeroRescue, which manages a fleet of five 328 turboprops for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, and Germany’s ADAC, which has two 328 ambulance variants, are already operating the 328SP.

Kim Fuller, 328’s sales support manager said: “We have two ex-SAS guys from STS Risk Group with us at the show helping us generate business for our special mission platforms.”

The 328 Group has bolstered its offerings this year. This summer 328 Design announced it had earned EASA approval as a Part 21J design organisation. The company also has approvals to convert and certify other aircraft types.

At last year’s Middle East Business Aviation Show, also held here in Dubai, the company launched its new VIP product, the 328DBJ. The aircraft replaced the ‘Envoy’ version of the 328 and will be the standard for all future VIP conversions.

The higher spec interior is the result of collaboration between UK-based ctm design and the 328SSG German-based interior completion team. Special features include a new VIP galley and a stretched interior.
