Arabasco gains Hawker and Honeywell authorisation

Arabian Aircraft Service Company (Arabasco) has been appointed as an authorised service centre for Hawker Beechcraft and Honeywell in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Initially for the Hawker 800 series but the company has plans to add the 900XP in the "near future" and its associated Honeywell TFE 731 (-2 to -5 Series) and APU Line (GTCP36-6 Series) powerplant units.

“This authorisation provides a first time alliance between Hawker Beechcraft and a maintenance facility in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore it firmly strengthen Arabasco's position as the premier provider of aircraft maintenance services to the business aviation sector in the most lucrative market in the Middle East and North Africa,” said Arabasco Chief Executive Officer, Mohammad Al Shablan.  “The Honeywell authorisation offers enhanced protection for the owners of aircraft with Honeywell engines and Auxiliary Power Units in the region, and provides local customers with technical support on their own turf.”

Steve Porte, Vice President, International Customer Support added:  “At Hawker Beechcraft, we continue expanding our service network to ensure effective support of our large customer base and fleet of aircraft in all parts of the world. As the first authorised service centre for Hawker jets in Saudi Arabia, this demonstrates our commitment to growing general and business aviation and supporting our customers in the region.”

Al Shablan said that even though the company has previously been maintaining Hawker types “this authorisation will enhance our ability to perform work-under-warranty for the owners of newer Hawker aircraft in the region, and save them the time and expense of ferrying their Hawkers elsewhere.”
