Air Partner worked closely with the major oil company to evacuate  its personnel from Cairo on the B757. Air Partner’s Emergency Planning department had been monitoring the situation in Egypt for a month as unrest came to a head.

The company ensured that all clients in the area were kept updated during this time, and that the team and aircraft were on standby, should the situation develop. A decision was finally made to execute a precautionary evacuation to the UK, which Air Partner was able to immediately put into action.

Air Partner’s emergency planning division,  prepares, executes and manages some of the most challenging international air rescue and air evacuations for companies and governments worldwide, is keen to emphasise how essential an immediate, carefully coordinated response is to ensure the safety of personnel in hostile situations.

Manager, Graham Davey, said, “We are seeing a growing awareness within corporates of a company’s duty of care and the importance of looking after personnel.

“Globalisation and the need to take business into ever more challenging areas increases the requirement to consider exit strategies. Those organisations that do not have exit plans risk early or late exit, which then either leads to lost opportunity or risk to personnel. It is also important to note that this is relevant to all sectors; at Air Partner we have clients in the oil and gas, mineral, chemical, food, finance, aviation manufacturing and charity sectors,”  he said.
