Air Charter Service aircraft on evacutation standby in Cairo

The company has received an increasing number of enquiries and has already contracted a number of aircraft to be placed on standby at Cairo Airport.

The protests began on June 30th across the Middle Eastern Country and resulted in the removal of President Mohamed Morsi by the country’s military. Clashes between Morsi’s supporters and their opponents have resulted in a number of deaths and the riots are putting innocent people in danger.

Dmitriy Korshunov, ACS Dubai’s director, commented: “We have been getting a large amount of calls from worried companies and have already placed various aircraft on standby at Cairo Airport in order to fly into Dubai in case the situation deteriorates. We are also receiving requests to fly to Cyprus and other surrounding countries to escape the troubles in Egypt.”

ACS has a huge amount of experience in large scale evacuations – in early 2011, during the Arab Spring uprisings, the company evacuated almost 15,000 foreign nationals from Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, and had people on the ground there managing the mass exodus. Korshunov added: “If the current situation escalates, we may find ourselves in a similar position to 2 years ago.”
