Turkish eyeing stake in European airline

Turkish Airlines is believed to be looking to buy a stake in a European carrier and is close to making a decision on where to invest according to Air Transport Intelligence (ATI)

The premium online service quoted Turkish chairman Hamdi Topcu tas saying that the airline is in "final talks" to take a stake in a European carrier. He added that "three to four airlines in the region" are under consideration, but declined to disclose identities.
In the past Turkish has been linked with Malev, and Spanair.

Last month Etihad took a stake in Air Berline and earlier last year Qatar Airways bought 35% of Cargolux.
