Oman Air reveals best ever performance figures

Presenting the Omani carrier’s annual results, Abdulrazaq bin Juma Al Raisi, the airline’s chief commercial officer gave the highlights as:
- Cargo revenues have increased by 238%
- Air cargo has increased by 99%
- Revenues have increased by 51%
- The number of passengers carried has increased by 38%
- Passenger load factors grew by 11%
“The excellent results achieved by Oman Air during the past year highlight the success of the various strategies put in place to ensure that targets are met,’ he said
“Oman Air’s business philosophy strives to continuously provide passengers with a niche and luxurious experience, combining innovation and precision to the finest detail, and promising the highest standards of quality to ultimately exceed passenger expectations."
With nine new destinations launched in 2010, Oman Air now flies to 41 major cities, linking Muscat with many leading economic and tourism destinations. Bolstering the bilateral ties between the Sultanate and the international community, Oman Air plans to further expand its fast-growing network and global reach in the coming year
Mr Al Raisi added that the positive results have been achieved despite intense competition with international and regional airlines. They are supported by constructive feedback and insights from passengers which indicate that the airline’s reputation and services, together with its spirit of Omani heritage, culture and hospitality, have been warmly received.
Mr Al Raisi also praised the airline’s dedicated, highly qualified and well trained staff who have assisted the airline in building a distinct identity that continues to attract an ever-growing customer base.
