Chief executive Stefan Pichler explained: “Despite a difficult economic environment, Jazeera Airways continued to take market share and in less than four years of operation has become the largest carrier operating out of Kuwait, our home base. The restructuring of the network from a dual hub to a single hub operation has briefly impacted revenues in Q2 2009, but it will ensure that Jazeera Airways will progress towards having the lowest CASK in the region. We continue to see strong passenger growth on all our services and we remain confident that 2009 will be another profitable year for the airline.”

The no-frills carrier now operates a fleet of ten aircraft, and expects to take delivery of its eleventh in January 2010. By 2014 the airline expects to operate a fleet of 30 aircraft.
