Emirates denies price-fixing allegations
Emirates has denied allegations from Australia's regulator that it fixed air freight prices, reported The National.

“Emirates denies the allegations and will be defending the proceedings,” a spokesperson said in response to e-mailed questions today. “It does not intend to make any further comment given that the matter is before the court.”
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACC) said today it’s taking action against the Dubai government-owned carrier in relation to alleged price fixing between 2002 and 2006.
It is alleging that Emirates entered into arrangements with other international air cargo carriers involving the price fixing of certain fuel surcharges, security surcharges and rates on cargo.
“The ACCC alleges that the arrangements or understandings were reached in countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and India,” the watchdog said in a statement on its website today.
The Emirates hearing has been set down for September 11 in the Federal Court in Sydney.
