WTM: Dubai wins airport of the year award

The grand final ceremony in London concluded the 2009 regional tour which took the World Travel Awards to Dubai, South Africa, Mexico and Portugal.

Dubai International erlier won the Middle East’s Leading Airport Award at the World Travel Awards (Middle East), for the second consecutive year. “The opening of Dubai International’s Terminal 3 in October 2008 – hailed in the industry as the most successful launch of a major terminal in recent years – added much needed capacity and made it possible for us to further enhance our customer service quality,” stated Anita Mehra, Dubai Airports VP Marketing and Corporate Communications.

Much coveted by travel and tourism companies, including airports and airlines, the World Travel Awards have been referred to as the Oscars of the global travel and tourism industry.
