Team Bahrain announced as TAS Premier Sponsor

Team Bahrain has been named as the premier sponsor for the PATA Routes Tourism Air Services (TAS) Summit. The event is one of the most important tourism events of the year and is co-located with World Routes Forum and opens on Sunday, 13th September at the New China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing.

The summit is designed to help proactive tourism authorities move up the aviation supply chain and assist their airports in the promotion of their destination directly to the carriers.

With an impressive list of speakers and topics, the event will focus on the relationship between national tourism offices, airlines and airports and address many topical issues including how tourism authorities can impact on the route development process, what information destination marketers need to give airlines and what contribution air services can make in destination recovery.

“The more proactive tourism authorities are extremely busy at present – as evidenced by the 25 million USD package for funding new route development announced by Cyprus Tourism through our online Route Exchange Service,” commented Gerard Brown, Tourism Development Director at Routes. “TAS will give attendees an ideal opportunity to work with airports and carriers to mitigate the drop in passenger numbers at this difficult time and position themselves for the future.”

Speakers at the event will include John Koldowski, PATA; Shaun Monnery, Astraeus Airlines; Mark Gill, S. Australian Tourism; Alfredo Gonzalez, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau; Anita Mehra Homayoun, Dubai International Airport; Scott Laurence, JetBlue; Lee Lipton, Southwest Airlines; Mr. Azizan Noordin, Tourism Malaysia; Larry Johnson, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport; Tony Everitt, South Pacific Tourism Organisation.

Latest registered organisations include Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Sofia Airport EAD, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport – Finavia, Tourism Western Australia, Hong Kong Airlines Co. Ltd, Perpignan Airport, Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau, InterVISTAS, San Francisco International Airport, Cook Islands Tourism, Papua New Guinea Tourism and ANA Aeroportos Lisboa.

All TAS delegates will have full access to the Routes Networking Village and also complimentary access to Routes’ full informal networking schedule. In addition TAS delegates have the option of securing pre-arranged meetings with the airline network planners. Organisations sending multiple delegations will enjoy special discounts.
