Sharjah Airport to get new Cat III runway

Sharjah International Airport has been given the go-ahead to start construction of a new 4,000 metre, $130 million CAT III runway.

Work is expected to be completed within 18-24 months after which the existing runway will be renovated.Peripheral projects include holding lounges, an air-bridge and additional parking, with the possibility of new feeder roads to the airport currently under discussion.
