EBACE: $105 million for aircraft shelters in Saudi Arabia

Arabian Support and Services Company (ASASCO), established a new joint venture company Arabian Aircraft Shelter Company Ltd. (ARAISHCO) with ARASCO, the biggest FBO operator in the Middle East and owners of Bexair, to develop, design and build the first ever aircraft shelters project in Riyadh and Jeddah International Airports.

Mr. Mansour Al-Tassan, Vice chairman of ARAISHCO and the major promoter of the project said; the project costs about $105 million and added “that this project is long over due for VIP and business aircraft sheltering requirements in Saudi Arabia and the GCC”.

Retired General Mohammed Al Shablan Chairman of ARAISHCO added that the shelter will house in each location more than 30 VIP and business aircraft from Cessna Citation CJ/XLS up to the size of an A-380 aircraft.

Mr. Al-Tassan said; financing arrangements with local banks is being finalised and construction start is anticipated to begin late this year to be completed by late 2011.
