Al Bateen Executive Airport in the fast lane with Grand Prix

The 13th and 14th November were the peak days, but overall the airport saw a 17% increase in movements compared with the amount of traffic handled during the 2009 event.
The main Abu Dhabi International Airport recorded a 16% increase in arrivals prior to the race from 7th November, a clear indication of the strong international attention this event attracts and its success in bringing visitors to the Emirate. It also reflected the increased number of flight frequencies and destinations to Abu Dhabi since November 2009.
Al Bateen welcomed business jets from all over the world, up to VIP B757 size, carrying VIPs, Formula One drivers and other prominent figures of the international community.
James E. Bennett, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports Company, said: “ADAC had a very exciting week during the Etihad Airways Formula One Grand Prix, offering its award-winning services to all the F1 guests at both Abu Dhabi International and Al Bateen Executive airports. We were glad to be a part of the Emirate’s success during this event.”
