Zambia Airways establishment delayed
Zambia Airways has had its establishment deferred by Zambian President Edgar Lungu as part of austerity measures aimed at bringing down the country's budget deficit, ch-aviation reports.

The country has been faced with low copper prices and severe power shortages, which means it will not be able to support the cost of establishing an airline.
"In light of the recent economic challenges, the financing of the ambitious infrastructural development programme has to be re-aligned to ensure budgetary sustainability," said Lungu.
Lusaka had originally envisioned a 2016 launch of the new airline after two years of delays.
