Minister of Tourism and Air Transport, Maimouna Ndoye Seck said that the carrier has been capitalised to XOF40 billion (USD69 million) to start operation as quickly as possible.

The carrier is currently looking for a partner, with Turkish Airlines in mind.

Once a partner has been signed, the capital will be raised to XOF100 billion (USD172 million).

Air Sénégal will help the country develop in a regional hub, alongside the opening of Blaise Diagne International Airport and the development of a ground-handling company and MRO unit.
