Qantas Ambassador John Travolta lands in Dubai

Travolta jetted in aboard the Qantas A380, enjoying the luxury of the A380 First Class Suite on route from London Heathrow to Dubai International Airport.
Qantas will host Travolta to a week-long tour of Dubai which will include taking in some of the emirate’s most iconic and luxurious destinations.
Speaking at Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport Travolta said that he was honoured to be involved in such pivotal time in the airline’s history with its new services to Dubai.
“It’s great to finally be in Dubai and I can’t wait to start exploring. I had a great flight and during my stay here I want to tell everyone why Qantas is my favourite airline and why they should try Qantas next time they fly to London or Australia.
“I’m also really looking forward to experiencing the Arabic hospitality and sightseeing throughout the week. I’ve heard so many great things about Dubai and I can’t wait to explore it for myself so I can then tell my friends to come here too.”
Commenting on his arrival, Qantas Middle East & North Africa general manager, Rohan Garnett said: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome John Travolta to Dubai. We are very much looking forward to hosting him over the next week through a series of corporate hospitality tours and activities.”
Qantas commenced direct daily services on the award-winning A380 aircraft from both Sydney and Melbourne to Dubai and onwards to London Heathrow on 31 March 2013 with the launch of the Qantas and Emirates partnership.
John Travolta became Qantas’ Ambassador-at-Large in June 2002, when it joined him to launch the Spirit of Friendship tour to foster goodwill and encourage people to travel after September 11.
Travolta first became aware of Qantas as a young boy, when his fascination with all things aviation began. He was struck by Qantas' safety record and the fact that it flew the longest routes in the world. After learning to fly light aircraft in his teens, John began to buy aircraft in his 20s, eventually acquiring an ex-Qantas Boeing 707.
Upon commencing the Spirit of Friendship Tour,Travolta was presented with his 747-400 'wings', having undergone extensive training with Qantas in Sydney and Boeing in Seattle. The tour began on 1 July 2002, with John piloting his Boeing 707, painted in its original 1960s Qantas branding and livery.
John Travolta continues to fly his Boeing 707 and represents the Qantas brand both in Australian and overseas.
