Oman Air tightens up on check in times

In an effort to increase efficiency and to provide better service to passengers, from today Oman Air is to close check-in counters an hour before the scheduled time of departure for all flights departing from Muscat.

Boarding Gates will now open 70minutes before departure and close promptly at 15 minutes before departure.

This new rule is applicable to all Oman Air flights departing from Muscat including domestic flights and was effective from this morning (June 1). Passengers can check-in online from 24 hours to 3 hours before the flight's departure by accessing their website www.omanair.aero. Passengers flying Oman Air are also invited to check in their baggage from eight hours before the scheduled time of departure.

David Thomas, , Oman Air's general manager, of customer services, said: "This move is to ensure an 'On Time Departure' for all Oman Air flights. We have introduced in the recent past many measures to ensure that our passengers travel with comfort, safety and reach their destinations on time. Oman Air's On Time Departure and Arrival has been very consistent and has been appreciated by all passengers. At Oman Air we are enhancing every aspect of our services so that all travellers will enjoy a more pleasing travel experience."
