After suspending the operation in 2004, TMA started business again in 2010 with scheduled and charter cargo flights to Europe and the Middle East with an Airbus A300F. Med Airways  operates international passenger and charter flights with a CRJ200.

In a first project, Lufthansa Consulting finalized a gap analysis determining the status-quo of operational manuals and processes in terms of conformity with IOSA standards. Since August 2010, the team of aviation consultants has provided hands-on assistance to the carriers’ management in Beirut regarding all eight IOSA sections in order to bring operational documentation and processes in line with the IATA requirements.

Working closely together with the airlines’ management, Lufthansa Consulting is providing the companies with a unique opportunity to achieve a high level of knowledge transfer and to adjust the organizations’ processes and procedures to comply with international safety and quality standards such as IOSA.

The aviation experts are also developing TMA’s future organizational structure according to IOSA standards on the operational side; and on the commercial side to meet cargo business and market requirements.

A further part of the project is the concept design for state-of-the art cargo facilities for Trans Mediterranean Airways which shall be established at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut. The objective is to prepare a phased concept for the air cargo terminal taking into consideration the expected cargo volumes and characteristics including the operational and security concept.
