Oman Air touches down in Kathmandu

On arrival, officials from the Nepal Tourism Bureau and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal greeted passengers, who included Philippe Georgiou, Oman Air’s Chief Officer Corporate Affairs.
 
Mr Georgiou and the Nepalese representatives then attended a press conference, at which he said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of Oman Air’s maiden flight between Muscat and Kathmandu. We want to promote Kathmandu as a major tourism destination and Oman Air’s new operation will undoubtedly give a boost to the forthcoming Nepal Tourism Year 2011 campaign.
 
“Oman Air has redefined the experience of air travel and, with the launch of this new service, discerning passengers to this popular destination will now be able to experience one of the world's best airlines. The new Muscat-Kathmandu flight offers excellent connectivity and customers flying from Kathmandu to Muscat will get easy access to our rapidly expanding network."
 
Oman Air now flies four times a week from Muscat to Kathmandu aboard the airline’s new generation Boeing 737-800s. Flights from Muscat will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing at 11:40 and arriving at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport at 17:05 (local time). Return flights from Kathmandu depart at 18:05, arriving in Muscat at 20:45 (local time).
