OMAN AIR TO UPGRADE DOHA FLIGHTS

Oman Air has announced it will upgrade its flights to Doha with larger capacity planes and additional charter flights after airlines in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain suspended flights to Qatar earlier this week.

Bigger aircraft are due to start operating from Muscat to Doha on June 8 until June 14, according to a Times of Oman report. Both Qatar Airways and Oman Air fly daily between Muscat and Doha. The upgraded flights are expected to help Qatar nationals and residents return to the emirate prior to the 14 day deadline to leave the UAE that has been given during the diplomatic disagreement to hit the GCC this week.

Travel agents have reported that flight times between Muscat and Doha have increased from 90 minutes to two hours with some GCC countries closing their airspace to flights from Qatar.
