The airline also recently unveiled annual results that showed it had climbed above $10 billion in annual revenue.

IndiGo chief executive Pieter Elbers said it will launch 10 new international destinations in its fiscal year running from April 2025, including London, Copenhagen, Siem Reap, and Athens, plus four undisclosed cities in Central Asia, as well as previously announced services to Manchester and Amsterdam from Mumbai.

“We will be moving from 40 international destinations to around 50 in just one year from now – that is a tremendous development,” said Elbers, speaking to Indian media in advance of the IATA Annual General Meeting taking place in the Indian capital on 1-3 June where IndiGo is the host carrier.

IndiGo will launch services to London and Copenhagen this winter, although it has not announced which London airport it will serve or from which Indian city, explained Elbers. This news will be saved for a later date, he said.

These routes will be operated by the airline’s growing fleet of six Boeing 787-9s arriving on wet-lease from Norse Atlantic Airways while Athens will be served by the first of its soon to be delivered longer-range Airbus A321XLR narrowbodies.

While it has not revealed its new Central Asian destinations, IndiGo will re-activate services to Almaty and Tashkent from Delhi, which were paused in the wake of the Pakistan airspace closure. It will also add new non-stop services from Mumbai to these cities. Tbilisi will also see additional capacity with non-stop connectivity from Mumbai.

IndiGo’s strategy is to fly 40% of its capacity on international markets by 2030, said Elbers. Today it is nearly at 30%.

In the fast-growing domestic market, IndiGo plans to add four more stations to its network, increasing it from 91 to 95 destinations. The carrier is set to become the first airline to start operations at the Navi Mumbai International Airport and Delhi’s Noida International Airport mostly likely in the second half of 2025 when these airports open.

In addition, IndiGo will launch operations at Adampur Airport in Jalandhar from July and at Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad during this fiscal year.

With one new aircraft joining the fleet every week throughout this fiscal year, IndiGo anticipates surpassing a fleet size of 600 aircraft by 2030. “IndiGo is taking further massive strides this year in its evolution towards becoming a major global airline by 2030,” said the carrier.
