New defence state minister for Qatar
Qatar's former foreign minister Khalid al-Attiyah has been named as the new state minister for defence affairs in a cabinet reshuffle yesterday.
Al-Attiyah is succeeded by Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani. The Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, also holds the post of Defense Minister according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The decree also merged several Ministries, including Communication and Transport and Culture, Youth and Sports.
