Sudan opens new helicopter MRO centre for Russian types

Russian Helicopters is set to maintain Russian-built helicopters at its newly opened helicopter MRO centre at the Safat aviation complex in Khartoum, Sudan.

In total more than 130 Mil types operate in Sudan with both civilian and government use. There are also 40 helicopters operated by Russian companies and 30 helicopters operated by companies from other countries.

Besides technical support, Safat manufactures light aircraft and provides maintenance services for the Antonov, MiG, and Sukhoi aircraft families. Safat also has storage and training facilities with simulators.
