Kenya Airways wins at World Travel Awards 2013

The airline beat off competition from Ethiopian Airlines, Air Namibia, Egypt Air, Air Moroc and South African Airlines.
Kenya Airways’ group managing director and chief executive officer Titus Naikuni said that the recognition highlighted the airline’s core values of putting the customer first, by ensuring that all operations start and end with them.
“We are committed to consistently deliver world class service for our guests. We continue focusing on our valued customers and responding to their changing needs.”
The Grand Finale Gala Ceremony 2013 of the World Travel Awards is slated for Doha in Qatar on November 30, 2013.
The recognition comes as Kenya Airways implements its long-term growth strategy in which it targets growing its fleet size and network of destinations. As part of this plan, the airline has announced that it will be receiving a new state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that will offer excellent customer experience.
Among the features in the Premier World section of the aircraft that will service long haul routes are: full flatbed seats with leather foot-rests, laptop stowage and armrests that also act as privacy dividers, high quality in-flight entertainment; each seat has a 15.4 inch touch screen monitor, power socket and USB port, and an in-flight entertainment handset.
For the Economy Class, seats are also a cut above the rest, with articulating seat bottoms for better legroom, four-way adjustable headrests, in-flight handset seatback and large 10.6 inch touch screen monitors. Each seat also has a USB port, with power sockets strategically installed throughout the cabin.
