Fly Aviation to benefit Ugandan children through visits to EBACE stand.

Fly Aviation Services has teamed up with Uganda based charity Quicken Trust for the upcoming EBACE business aviation show in Geneva.
“A substantial sum of money is practically thrown away every year through unutilized marketing merchandise,” said George Kinj, General Manager of Fly Aviation Services. “Our aim is to put that budget to much better use.” Fly Aviation Services will donate USD 20 on behalf of every business contact made during the three day event, and accordingly no donations will be collected from the visitors themselves."
Fly Aviation came up with the scheme last year and Kinj said “last year the company topped up the donation with a further contribution of its own, and we are keeping that option open for this year too.”
The donations go to a good cause.
“We are launching a maternal and infant mortality reduction program called ‘Special Delivery’ in the rural health centre in Kabubbu, Uganda,” said Geoff Booker, founder of Quicken Trust. “In the Ugandan National Development Plan for 2010-2014 published in April 2010 the Ugandan government has set itself a target of reducing maternal deaths from 435 in every 100,000 recorded in 2006, to 131 by 2015. Every year around 6,000 mothers die in childbirth because of lack of basic maternity facilities. 76.9 babies in every 1,000 births die in Uganda which is 168th on a list of 195 countries. The support of Fly Aviation Services and its visitors at EBACE 2011 will make a real difference as every mother and every child counts and has a right to life.”
Fly Aviation Services is based in Dubai and specializes in trip support arrangements for difficult areas including Africa, Middle East and Asia. This will be the third consecutive year that Fly Aviation services will exhibit in EBACE, and underlines the company’s commitment to refreshing its relationships with customers and other parties.
