Oman Air to be in new holding company
Oman's Minister of Transport and Communications, Dr Ahmed Al Futaisi, said the government is in the process of setting up a holding company whose assets will include Oman Air, the Oman Airports Management Company, and the soon-to-be-established Oman Air Navigation Services Company, reports ch-aviation.
No specific name or formal unveiling has yet been disclosed.
Oman Air is in the process of spinning off its ancillary operations so as to focus on its core airline business. At the moment, its cargo-handling operations have been transferred to Oman SATS Cargo LLC, a new joint venture with Singaporean-owned SATS Investments Ptd, while its ground-handling operations will partner Menzies Aviation to establish a new nation-wide presence.
