Rubb and Alireza tie up for Saudi military hangars

Rubb Buildings has linked up with Saudi Arabian company, Haji Abdullah Alireza to work on a number of significant aircraft hangar projects together. The two companies consolidated their relationship at DSEI, the London defence show, last week.

The Alireza company works with the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence and is using Rubb to partner on two military aircraft shelters and are now looking at a long-term relationship as part of the Saudi 2030 Vision.
Visiting DSEI, George Antonopoulos, CEO of Alireza’s Industrial Division, said: “We are delighted to announce this strategic partnership with Rubb Military Buildings, who we recognise as a world leader in expeditionary relocatable shelters for the military market.  This important agreement sits neatly with Alireza’s commitment to support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
While Rubb has undertaken work in the wider Gulf Region, Saudi Arabia has proved to be more difficult to penetrate.  Vision 2030 will see the Saudi Arabian government aiming to localise over 50% of military equipment spending by 2030, through a programme of strategic partnerships between Saudi companies and leading defence companies.  The partnership between Rubb and Alireza will work to support this goal.

The House of Alireza is the oldest Saudi owned company, established in 1867, and has continued its activities uninterrupted through all the development stages of the Kingdom.  Business activities include shipping, port facilities in Jeddah and Dammam, logistics, electronics and security system, broadcasting, sea water desalination and lubricating oil refining under license from ExxonMobil.  The House of Alireza is also one of the largest aviation fuel bunkering companies in the GCC, including supplying the Royal Saudi Air Force.
