Star Alliance launch Connecting Partner Model
Star Alliance has announced Mango Airlines as the launch airline for it Connecting Partner Model (CPM), ch-aviation reports.

CPM sees routes operated by low cost carriers (LCC) and hybrid airlines scrutinised for their fit into Star Alliance’s network.
Successful candidates will sign bilateral commercial agreements with selected Star Alliance member airlines, but will not become members of the alliance itself.
“With this innovative concept, we are breaking new ground. We see a definite trend of convergence between the ‘traditional full service’ and ‘low-cost’ business models in the airline industry,” said Mark Schwab, CEO Star Alliance.
Passengers travelling on an itinerary including a transfer between a Star Alliance member airline and a connecting partner will receive Star Alliance benefits such as passenger and baggage through check-in.
