Gulf Air unveils its new website

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has launched a brand new website gulfair.com featuring the latest news and offers for customers. For the first time there is an Arabic language version, while the French and German versions will be added by the end of this month.

The new look site took around 12 months to develop and, whilst customers will get a new improved look and feel, the real revolution is ‘behind the scenes’.  The site has been created and is maintained through a sophisticated Content Management System (CMS) which improves reliability of the site and consistency across pages.   The CMS also enables easier deployment of localised versions, which means that customers are now able to select their chosen country and language to obtain the most relevant information for their travel with the Bahrain airline.

Gulf Air Head of e-commerce Mr. Nicola Simionato said: “The development of the new online platform has been a significant project that has involved several departments within the airline to ensure that it meets the exact needs of our customers.   With the exception of our booking engine, a recent development in itself, every web application has been rewritten to ensure it delivers optimum results for our passengers.

In the coming months we will be adding even more sophisticated applications to the site including Web Check-in.    Our aim is for gulfair.com to be a one-stop-shop for all our customers’ travel, from booking their flights and redeeming their Frequent flyer points to arranging their hotel, travel insurance packages, and car hire at their destination.

Gulf Air’s “Lowest Fares Guaranteed” initiative promises customers that they will not find a cheaper Gulf Air flight anywhere else online and will refund the difference if they do!
