First passengers from hijacked Afriqiyah A320 released
The first passengers - believed to be women and children - have been released from the Afriqiyah Airways A320 jet which had been hijacked on an internal flight in Libya. The aircraft's diverted to Malta.

Local media said the hijacker told crew he is ‘pro-Gaddafi’ and is willing to let the passengers leave the aircraft, but not the crew.
The Malta airport authority has dispatched emergency teams to the site of the aircraft, as well as military personnel in position
The situation is currently on going.
