Emirates set to open lounge at Manchester, UK

Emirates is to open a lounge for its premium customers flying from Manchester airport in the UK. Construction will begin shortly and the lounge will open in late summer The Times reported.

The lounge will cover an area of 8,500 square feet and have seating for up to 180 passengers. The lounge, the carrier’s 23rd around the world, will also include showers and business facilities.

The airline currently flies twice a day between Manchester and its home base of Dubai into terminal two. The airline will switch its services to terminal one on 1 June in anticipation of the opening of the lounge.

Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ senior vice president, Commercial Operations, Europe, said: “Our Manchester services have continued to be one of our strongest operations from the UK, holding up even in the tough times we are working through now. So we’re particularly delighted that we can reward our premium passengers with the facilities of what we are sure will be the finest lounge at the airport.”
