Air Mauritius introduces bidding system for flight upgrades
Air Mauritius has introduced an 'UpgradeNow' service to give its customers the opportunity to get an upgrade to a higher class of travel a few days before departure.

The service is available at a fee conditional upon the acceptance of an offer made by the customer.
Eligible passengers may make an offer to upgrade to business class or premium economy by making the offer directly through the airline’s website; by making an offer after receiving an email invitation from Air Mauritius at 14 days before departure or by making the offer through the contact centre of Air Mauritius (phone number 230-207 7575) from the day after buying their ticket.
All received offers will be evaluated between 3 and 6 days before departure based on several criteria including seat availability. Passengers must communicate their email address to Air Mauritius when making their reservation, as they will be notified by email. Accepted offers will be charged to the debit or credit card to be provided by the passengers.
Andre Viljoen, CEO Air Mauritius: “We are constantly trying to find new ways to serve our customers better. ‘UpgradeNow’ gives a broader range of passengers’ access to the comfort and service of our Business Class cabin and services. It is one of the new offerings that we are introducing as part of our objective to step up service.”
